It’s always fantastic when the media catches wind of a feel good story and decides to make a ‘piece’ out of it. It’s even better when you get to be part of that story!

In this case, CBC’s Nancy Russel reached out to me in advance of a show I was preparing for at Harmony House Theatre in Hunter River. That was only two weeks ago and CBC’s media ‘push’ definitely created the final buzz to help fill out the 140 person theatre.

Creating awareness about the show was the intended goal. But something more magical happened! CBC nailed my ‘origin story’!

An origin story, for those of you who are not familiar with Comic Book folk-lore, is the story of how a superhero became a superhero.

Superman’s origin story involved being sent to Earth as a baby by his father while their home planet Krypton fell to ashes. Spider-Man came to be after he was bitten by a radioactive spider. Harry Potter became ‘The Boy Who Lived’ after his nemesis Voldemort failed to murder him when he was just a baby – a mistake that intertwined the two wizards’ fate until their final duel.

Well… my story probably won’t make it’s way into a comic book… BUT… CBC certainly told the tale of how Doc Landry came to be better than I ever could have imagined!

You can read the online article HERE But, I am particularly partial to the radio interview. I’ve included the full 8 minute interview for you to stream.

This adventure continues to amaze me!

Live Simply,
